Top Stitch Covers is backed by over 25 years of experience providing Top Notch Custom Creations and Repairs. Juliane started sewing at home making clothing for herself and other members of her family. In 1990 she attended Brooks College in Long Beach, CA for Fashion Design where she not only improved hes sewing skills but also learned the art of Pattern Drafting. She worked several years in the Garment industry, learning clothing production from design to Market. In 1997 she moved to the Central Coast and in early 1998 started working at the Great American Melodrama in Oceano, CA where she was responsible for Designing, Constructing and Maintaining the costumes. After two years with the Melodrama she went to work for PCPA ( Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts) in Santa Maria. CA as the head Pattern Maker. She continued in that position until 2003 at which time she moved back to Southern CA. There she had the opportunity to expand both her design and Construction Skill. She designed costumes for several small movies and commercial projects. She also worked for Artisans that make large character costumes for companies including Disney and Universal Studios.
In 2006 she moved back to the Central Coast and returned to PCPA this time in the Capasity of Designer and Craft Supervisor a full time, hands on teaching Position. After commuting from Santa Margarita to Santa Maria ( a 48 mile Commute) for almost 5 1/2 years, she decided it was time to shorten her commute. Fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit she opened her own sewing shop in her home town. She has since relocated to the town of Shandon. Since it is a ways out she will be happy to come to you if needed.
